Side-effect grading scheme keeps being re-asked here and I think that is because the answer is conditional and the conditions never travel with it.
Attempting to write the conditional version down properly. Corrections welcome and expected — I would like this to end up as a maintained page rather than a fifth thread.
On the opening post — agreed on the reasoning, with one qualification.
Fatigue is commonly described and hard to attribute. Substantial energy restriction produces it on its own, and separating the drug from the deficit requires a change in one and not the other.
Side-effect grading scheme sits at the boundary between what this community can usefully discuss and what it cannot, and I think it falls on the discussable side, narrowly.
Recognition and grading: nausea ranges from "noticeable" to "limiting". Constipation ranges from mild to severe. Having language to describe the magnitude helps you track whether something is worsening or stable and helps your clinician understand what you are reporting.
Someone will know this better than I do and I hope they say so.
Worth separating two things that post #2 runs together.
I think the side-effect grading scheme question is answerable and has not been answered, which is a more optimistic position than most of this thread.
