Temperature indicator cards: worth asking for?

GT

Asking directly, because I could not find a straight answer: Temperature indicator cards: worth asking for?

Two things I would like separated before anyone answers on temperature indicator cards, because they get bundled and then argued about as one thing.

The first is descriptive: what has actually been observed, by whom, and how. The second is causal: why. I am asking about the first only.

Helpful, and easy to find again, which is half of what a good reply is.

Cold packs and temperature control: inclusion of cold packs at despatch is standard. Whether they maintain temperature through transit depends on journey duration and ambient temperature. Long journeys through warm climates put product at risk.

I would put a moderate confidence on that and no more.

Where a supplier reships after a documented failure without argument, that is commercially costly and worth recording alongside everything else.

It is the kind of thing that is obvious once and never again.

This follows post #3 rather than contradicting it.

Small methodological point on temperature indicator cards: repeating a measurement is cheap and resolves most of what is being argued about here at no cost to anyone.

I read post #4 twice before replying, because I had assumed the opposite.

Where I would push back on the temperature indicator cards consensus is the confidence, not the direction. The direction looks right. The confidence is borrowed.

Notice of a delay before the quoted window elapses is a materially different service experience from notice afterwards, and it is worth recording which happened.

The step people skip is the one I have spelled out.
