I read post #3 twice before replying, because I had assumed the opposite.
Support and community: some people process weight change through community (online or in-person). Others prefer privacy. Knowing what you need and seeking it proactively helps.
A change that came on with an escalation and settled is a different observation from one that has persisted for months.
Where I would look next, rather than where I would stop.

Motivation and expectation: starting with clear motivation and realistic expectations about what will happen and when helps with psychological adjustment.
Adding it because I spent an afternoon working it out and nobody should have to twice.
